Kutani Ware, or Kutani-yaki, is a traditional form of Japanese porcelain originating from the Kutani region in Ishikawa Prefecture. Renowned for its vibrant colors and intricate designs, Kutani Ware has a rich history dating back to the early 17th century.  The production of Kutani Ware involves multiple steps, including forming the porcelain base, applying underglaze designs, firing, glazing, and then a second firing. Skilled artisans meticulously hand-paint the intricate designs.
Today, Kutani Ware continues to evolve, with contemporary artists and artisans exploring new techniques and designs while maintaining the traditional essence of this exquisite craft.
